Reclaimed Teak Knee Braces, Hand Carved, Original

Size Range:  24-26" long x 5-6" wide x 6-7" deep.  Approx. 10-18 lbs. each

These are traditional teak knee braces used to connect and brace the intersection of a post and a beam in a traditional limasan structure / home in Indonesia.  If you've traveled to Indonesia (Bali, Java or any other island), then you might be familiar with these salvaged pieces of architectural elements.  If you're building an outdoor or indoor space and want to add a touch of post and beam / mortise & tenon detail, these are the pieces for you!  Order 1 or more and we will try to send 'matching' pieces when we can.  But, they typically will not exactly match and won't even in a single Indonesian structure as each one is hand made.

Knee brace architectural elements are difficult to find on our buying trips.  There is a limited supply.  Typically, when these knee braces are used here in the USA, the tenon is cut off and the knee brace is attached to the post and the beam using lag bolts.  See where a knee brace is used in the last picture.  Priced each.
