Antique Rice Paste Trough, Outdoor Planter, Teak, Indonesian Lesung

70" wide x 11" deep x 24 " tall, Teak Lesung = 10" tall, Approx. 125 lbs.

This planter is made from an old Indonesian "Lesung" which was used in a typical Indonesian house to pound cooked rice in to rice paste.  It is made of old growth teak and is very dense and heavy.  Use this piece as a flower or herb planter (as seen in the last pictures). which shows a larger planter in front of our old retail showroom in Old City, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  If the planter is outside and gets direct sunlight, the teak will bleach (turn gray), but it does not hurt the teak.  As a planter, water will not hurt the teak either.  We recommend drilling holes in the bottom for water drainage.
